49ers LB Foster arrested again; bail set at $75K

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — For the second time in less than a month, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster has been arrested.

The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police confirmed Sunday night that Foster was arrested earlier in the day on charges related to domestic violence, threats and possession of an assault weapon.

Police responded to a disturbance call placed at approximately 9:15 a.m. Sunday at a Los Gatos residence. Upon arrival, officers spoke to Foster and the alleged victim. The result of the initial investigation was to arrest Foster, 23.

Foster was then transported and booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail, where he was held on $75,000 bail. He was released on bail Sunday night. The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police said the incident remains under investigation.

The San Francisco Chronicle first reported Foster’s arrest, and the San Jose Mercury News reported the additional charge related to suspicion of possession of an assault rifle.

The 49ers released a statement Sunday night indicating that they were in the process of gathering facts about the situation.

“The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the report regarding Reuben Foster,” the statement said. “We take matters of this nature seriously and are gathering all pertinent information.”

For Foster, Sunday’s arrest comes on the heels of a Jan. 12 incident in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he was charged with second-degree marijuana possession, a Class A misdemeanor in Alabama. He was released that night on $2,500 bond.

Foster’s arrests could lead to discipline from the NFL, up to and including a suspension. Foster’s cases both stand to be reviewed under the league’s policies on substance abuse and personal conduct.

Both arrests follow a successful rookie season for Foster, in which he was second on the Niners in tackles, with 72 in 10 games. The arrests are added to a list of off-the-field incidents that contributed to Foster’s falling to San Francisco with the No. 31 pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

Foster initially raised some red flags at last year’s NFL scouting combine, where he was sent home early after an argument with a hospital worker. He also had a urine sample taken there show up as diluted, which, according to the NFL’s policy on substances of abuse, was treated as a positive test.

Because of the diluted sample, Foster entered the league as part of the substance abuse program.

Despite the incidents in Indianapolis, 49ers general manager John Lynch said after drafting Foster that he and the organization were comfortable with Foster’s character and that Foster would be able to avoid trouble off the field. After the January marijuana arrest, Lynch told SBNation.com at the Senior Bowl that Foster had to figure out how to avoid off the field issues.

“He’s got to stay — he knows it — he’s got to stay clean,” Lynch said. “We all know how special a player he can be when he’s right. So he’s got to figure out how to stay healthy and stay out of trouble, but we believe he will do that.”

Foster’s arrest is the second related to domestic violence since Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan joined the 49ers last year.

In April 2017, cornerback Tramaine Brock was arrested in Santa Clara on a felony domestic violence charge. The 49ers released him the next day. The charges against Brock, who is now with the Minnesota Vikings, were dropped in August, and the NFL did not pursue any further discipline.

At the time of Brock’s release, Lynch said the Niners’ handling of such situations would be handled on a case-by-case basis.

“I think we have been consistent, we have said that character is important to us, football character,” Lynch said then. “Football character means a lot of different things. As Kyle articulated very well, and I feel the same way because we kind of forged these philosophies together, as those situations arise — and hopefully there won’t be a lot of them — we’re going to treat each one of them as a unique and different situation.”

Omarosa's 'Celebrity Big Brother' Hospital Visit Sparked by Dizzy Bowling Game

Omarosa‘Big Brother’ Hospital ScareWas a Dizzy Doozy

2/11/2018 5:54 PM PST

Omarosa went to the hospital last week after a dizzying bowling competition on “Celebrity Big Brother” … and the game seemed pretty intense on TV.

The former White House staffer was among the first guests to partake in the game — aptly called Bowlerina — in which players have to spin around to lower a gate guarding some pins … and then try bowling them over from afar.

Omarosa went up against Marissa Jaret Winokur, and kinda got her ass handed to her in the process. More importantly, though, she had to spin around twice to lower her gate … and appeared to suffer an asthma attack as a result.

As we reported … Omarosa was sent to the hospitalafter the game, which left some house guests speculating she faked the attack to get some rest outside the house.

O was out of the house for nearly 19 hours … we’ll let you be the judge as to the seriousness of her attack.

Colts get it 'Reich' as new coach signs deal

INDIANAPOLIS — Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich has been hired to be the Indianapolis Colts‘ next head coach.

He will receive a five-year deal, according to a source.

Reich replaces Chuck Pagano as coach after a search that took a few twists and turns. Indianapolis announced that Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels had agreed to take the job on Feb. 6 and scheduled an introductory news conference for the next day. McDaniels called Colts general manager Chris Ballard later that evening and reneged on the agreement, saying he decided to stay with New England. Ballard took the blame for the team’s announcing the agreement with McDaniels before he signed the contract.

Ballard, in a news conference the following day, said he wanted “someone that’s 100 percent committed to partnering with us and getting that work done.”

Ballard moved swiftly to make his hire after the McDaniels fiasco. He interviewed Reich, New Orleans assistant head coach and tight ends coach Dan Campbell and Buffalo defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier in a three-day span. ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen reported earlier Sunday that Reich was the favorite for the job.

Reich’s hiring ends a six-week coaching search in which the Colts went from being the first of six teams to fire their head coach to being the last of the six to fill the opening.

“We are extremely excited to announce Frank Reich as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts,” Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay said in a statement. “Frank has all the ingredients of a successful head coach: intelligence, innovation, character, organizational and leadership skills and a commanding presence. He also has a stellar reputation, and his myriad of life experiences and the people he has worked with make him the perfect fit for us and our fans. I feel extremely fortunate and could not be more excited for Colts Nation and the future of our franchise.”

Reich, 56, spent the past two seasons in Philadelphia helping the Eagles’ offense, led by quarterbacks Carson Wentz and (after Week 14) Nick Foles, improve from 22nd to seventh in the NFL this season.

“Frank is a tremendous coach and very deserving of this opportunity. He was a valuable member of our staff, and we have all benefited from working with him over the last two years,” Eagles coach Doug Pederson said in a statement. “As good as he is as a leader and teacher, he’s an even better person. We could not be more excited for him as he takes this next step in his career, and we wish him and his family all the best.”

Reich, who didn’t call plays with the Eagles, began his coaching career as an offensive staff assistant with former Colts coach Jim Caldwell in 2008 after retiring from playing 10 years earlier. Reich was Peyton Manning’s quarterbacks coach in 2009 and ’10 before coaching Reggie Wayne and the rest of the receivers in 2011. He also served as receivers coach in Arizona and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach with the San Diego Chargers.

The Colts are coming off a 4-12 season and have missed the playoffs in each of the past three years. The Colts will have about $85 million in salary-cap space and the No. 3 overall pick in the April draft. The key for the Colts, though, will be the health of quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck missed all of last season after having right shoulder surgery in January 2017. Luck, who has not thrown a football since the middle of October, is currently in southern California working with a throwing expert.

“He has not picked up a football, but he is throwing balls, working on arm speed,” Ballard said on Feb. 7. “He’s not going to skip a step. I don’t know if you know Andrew, but Andrew is not going to skip a step. He’s going to do everything right to get himself ready to play, and I’m very confident, he’s very confident, that he’s going to come back and prove a lot of people wrong. I’m very proud of the kid — wouldn’t want anybody else on our team. We want our team to match what he has inside.”

The NFL Network first reported the agreement on a five-year deal.

Harvey Weinstein & TWC Sued by N.Y. Attorney General for Civil Rights Violations

Harvey Weinstein & TWC SuedN.Y. AG Claims Civil Rights ViolationsBob & Co. Were Complicit!!

2/11/2018 2:19 PM PST

Breaking News

Harvey Weinstein and The Weinstein Company are being sued by the New York attorney general for alleged civil rights violations in the workplace.

New York’s AG, Eric Schneiderman, just filed suit against Harvey, his brother, Bob Weinstein, and the entire Weinstein Co., alleging they violated the state’s civil rights laws and NYC’s human rights laws during the disgraced movie producer’s time there.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Schneiderman says Harvey persistently sexually harassed female employees at TWC by personally creating a hostile work environment and demanding quid pro quo sexual favors for continued employment or career advancement.

He goes on to allege that Harvey used his position at TWC, as well as female employees and company resources, to serve his sexual interests with other women seeking employment or business opportunities with TWC.

Schneiderman also accuses TWC’s human resources department of essentially being non-existent … while going on to claim Bob and the rest of the board of directors were complicit in Harvey’s operation by ignoring credible evidence presented to them time and again.

Schneiderman wants Harvey, Bob and TWC to pay out the nose for their alleged misdeeds … upwards of $350k for each violation. He also wants any women bound to an NDA with the company to be released from its terms.

Anthony Scaramucci Says If John Kelly Lied About Rob Porter He's Gotta Resign

Anthony Scaramucci If Kelly Lied About Porter …He’s Gotta Go

2/11/2018 12:24 PM PST

EXCLUSIVE

Anthony Scaramucci thinks Trump‘s Chief of Staff John Kelly needs to leave The White House STAT if he lied to the Prez and the people about Rob Porter.

We got The Mooch Sunday at LAX and he couldn’t have been clearer … if the Axios report is accurate — that Kelly covered up domestic abuse allegations against key aide Porter — then he should throw in the towel.

The next logical question, of course, is whether Trump has become an apologist for men accused of sexual misdeeds, or, as Trump says, he’s just trying to ensure due process against those accused.  Scaramucci acknowledges Trump has made some mistakes in that department.
