Breaking News

R. Lee Ermey, the former Marine who played the sadistic Gunnery Sgt. Hartman in “Full Metal Jacket,” is dead.

Ermey’s manager says the drill instructor turned actor died Sunday morning from complications from pneumonia.

Ermey appeared in more than 70 films.  He once said, “I’ve done over 200 episodes of [GunnyTime], and then [Hollywood] found out I’m a conservative.”  He says he was blackballed from Hollywood over his political views.  He says he was actually an independent and voted for Barack Obama in 2008 but soured on him.  He was also a board member of the National Rifle Association.

He said not too long ago, “Do you realize I have not done a movie in five to six years?  Why?  Because I was totally blackballed by the … liberals in Hollywood.  They can destroy you.  They’re hateful people.”

The actor enlisted in the Marine Corp at 17 and served in Vietnam.

He was a consultant for the classic, “Apocalypse Now,” and also played a helicopter pilot.

Ermey was 74.

RIP.

After Mitchell hit a pull-up jumper he turned and grimaced. He’s definitely dealing with something. And shortly after that, he checked out of the game, looking very confused, then came back in a few seconds later.

Viola Davis' Husband Julius Tennon Says Prowlers Got Lucky

Viola Davis’ Hubby on Break-InThose Prowlers Got LuckyOur House is Locked … & Loaded?

4/15/2018 3:46 PM PDT

EXCLUSIVE

Viola Davis‘ husband says they’ve made necessary adjustments after their home was almost broken into last month, but it sounds like he was already prepared to defend his family.

We got Julius Tennon Saturday at LAX, and asked about a recent attempted break-in at his and Viola’s home … during which they were home and fast asleep in their bedroom.

Julius says he was able to scare off the prowlers with his “Lion King” voice, and that he and V got rid of the ladder the dudes used to climb up to their second-floor balcony.

Then he drops an ominous warning for anyone considering to pull something like that again … DON’T, ’cause he’s got something more lethal than his voice. Guns, perhaps? You tell us.

Pop on Kawhi's return status: Ask 'his group'

SAN FRANCISCO — Gregg Popovich reiterated that Kawhi Leonard’s continued absence from the San Antonio Spurs during their run in the Western Conference playoffs stems from the lack of clearance from the star forward’s medical team for a return to the court.

Popovich was asked Sunday whether he expected Leonard to rejoin the team at some point during the postseason.

“You’ll have to ask Kawhi and his group that question,” Popovich said. “So far, they say that he’s not ready to go. So we can’t do anything until that happens. Then, we would have to decide what’s going on from there. But that’s the first thing that has to happen.”

Popovich said Leonard remains in New York, where he is continuing to rehabilitate a right quadriceps injury, and Spurs general manager R.C. Buford confirmed that information.

Asked whether there was value in Leonard spending time supporting his teammates during the playoffs, despite being not cleared to play, Popovich declined to address the question specifically.

“He’s rehabbing right now in New York trying to get healthy,” Popovich.

A source told ESPN’s Chris Haynes that Leonard is improving and undergoing routine exams to determine his progress.

Leonard hasn’t played in a game for the Spurs since Jan. 13, and he’s participated in just nine contests all season.

Leonard briefly returned to the team from his rehabilitation stint in New York in March, but decided in April to head back East to focus on the rehab process.

Source: Gronk won't attend start of program

Like quarterback Tom Brady, tight end Rob Gronkowski will not attend the start of New England’s offseason program Monday, according to a source.

Gronkowski still is considering whether to play the upcoming 2018 season, and has had “good communication” with the Patriots, per the source.

Gronkowski has a $250,000 workout bonus in his contract for 2018, which is paid out based on attending a percentage of the voluntary workouts.

Brady also is not expected to attend the start of the offseason program; he has been on a business trip to Qatar. In other years, Brady has been a regular participant at the team’s offseason program, but he will miss at least the beginning this year.

“We have the voluntary offseason program that starts on Monday,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said last week. “It will be heavily attended, but I know there are a couple players that I’ve talked to that have other commitments, but that’s the way it always is. So, not really anything new there.”

Information from ESPN’s Mike Reiss was used in this report.

Azealia Banks Claims She was 'Lowkey' Raped on Her Instagram Story

Azealia BanksClaims She was ‘Lowkey’ Raped …On Since-Deleted IG Posts

4/15/2018 11:25 AM PDT

Azealia Banks was breaking down and sobbing on her Instagram story Saturday night, claiming she’d been sexually assaulted … and threatening to quit music over it.

In since-deleted Instagram videos posted to the NYC rapper’s Story, Azealia can be heard crying over being “low key” raped by a man she claims pressured her into sex.

In the posts — which were captured by a third party and posted online — she starts off with a disclaimer saying she fells “like dirt.” She also partially blames herself for the alleged rape, and goes on to threaten deleting her social media accounts until she’s okay again.

Azealia was clearly affected by the incident — the details of which are left ambiguous for now. She doesn’t say where this happened, but presumably it occurred Saturday night. She also doesn’t name the alleged perpetrator.

You never see her face … only her voice, which at one point says someone “got the best of me.” She eventually asks someone to come pick her up — but the posts were later deleted off her account. She did, however, allude to roofies in later posts … and added she was “good” from the night before and that her show on Sunday was still on.

It’s unclear where she’ll be performing tonight.
